In Search of a Android Game Platform

With Android now being at least as popular as most its rivals and finding its way onto a host of great devices, it is time for me to start searching for a user friendly and heavily supported, preferably community supported, game engine.  Given the current user interface options, I am looking for a great 2D Game Engine.  One of my hopes was that TorquePowered, or GarageGames, was going to come out with an Android version of their Engine.  As of now, it looks as thought InstantAction is going out of business, so I have my doubts that I will see any progress there.  Unity looks to be coming out with an Android version of their platform, sometime in the future, but at a non-hobbyist pricetag.  They also focus on 3D, which is great, but given the current interfaces, I think I want to focus on 2D.  For better or worse, with Android supporting Flash, I suspect Flash will come out to be the Game Engine king for devices sporting the Android OS.
